Buses at Woden Bus Station - Canberra Transport

In this video we see a large variety of different ACTION buses at Woden Bus Station, one of Canberra's major bus stations. The original bus interchange at Woden in March 1968 when the Woden - City express route. The permanent (and current) interchange opened on the 4 December 1972, and was one of Australia's first purpose built off the street bus interchanges. In 1982 the interchange was expanded to cater for services south towards Tuggeranong. Buses seen in the video include ACTION Renault PR100.2's, Scania L94UB CNG's, MAN A69 18.310's, MAN A69 18.320 HOCL-NL/E5's, Scania K320UB's 14.5m, Scania K320UB's & Scania K360UA articulated buses. We also see ACTION #710, the electric BYD Toro ebus and a QCity Transit Volvo B7RLE. The Woden Valley is one of Canberra's eight main residential districts. Woden was developed from the 1960's as Canberra's first satellite cities. The bus station is at the centre of the Woden Town Centre which is a lovely concrete jungle full of brutalist architecture including the Westfield shopping centre, various office blocks (including the Callam Offices which resembles some odd spaceship, designed by famous Australian architect John Andrews), some large public squares, the library, lots of car parks, the hotel I stayed at during my trip, which was a repurposed office building (would stay there again), and some abandoned office buildings which would be an urban explorers' wet dream. The area is eerily quiet at night and didn't seem too safe at night. Note: As part of Canberra's new public transport network that started on the 29th April 2019, Woden Bus Station has been renamed to Woden Interchange.
