Ameline by Eric Sammut | Katarzyna Myćka, Marimba

„Ameline“ is a beautiful marimba solo, as charming as all other pieces by Eric Sammut. As I heard him performing it many years ago I was touched by its nostalgic character and beautiful harmonies - yet I didn’t know the background of this composition. Here is what Eric says about it: "I knew Ameline when she was just born because her father is a very good friend of mine. Sadly I was shocked when she died suddenly by an accident.... She was only 4 years old. When I played the piece for the first time in front of my friend I didn't know how he would take it. Seeing in his eyes I felt he took the music directly to his heart, it made our friendship stronger than before". Recording April 2021 by Klaus Kusserow
