After a Night Shift, I Climbed to a Grand View 🌿

After a night shift, my body was quietly asking for the mountains. I fell asleep after work, so I ended up leaving at night. Too tired to keep driving, I slept until 6 at a service area, then made my way to the Sanbon Falls parking lot, had breakfast, and set off. The trail was gentle and full of water — snowmelt streams that quietly healed me as I walked. Mt. Norikura is easy to reach by bus, so the summit was crowded. I just wanted to face nature quietly, on my own, so I climbed steadily past the crowds. What waited at the top was a grand, sweeping view that gave me chills and filled my heart. Near the summit, Gongen Pond — a cobalt-blue crater lake — glowed clear and still. I sat there eating instant ramen, taking in the vastness of Norikura. On the way back, I saved Sanbon Falls for last, as a little reward. I hadn't expected much — but the contrast of the three falls blew away all the tiredness of the day. Beautiful, cool mist on my warm skin. Exhausted, but it was a perfect day. A quiet journey to breathe again. 🌲 Filmed at Mt.
