César Franck - CHORALE #3 in A minor [Hauptwerk // Caen]
In this video you can hear César Franck's "Chorale No. 3 in A minor pour Grand Orgue" played on my Hauptwerk organ on the sample set of "Caen - St. Etienne" by Sonus Paradisi. In may of 1890 César Franck was involved in a road accident and died at the beginning of November 1890. However, most likely Franck began composing work on the Trois Chorals before his accident, in 1889 but the completion was delayed until autumn of 1890. Trois Chorals was completed weeks before his untimely death and stands as one of the great masterpieces of his production with many organists considering them to be César Franck’s legacy. César Franck was a paramount composer who layed the groundwork for the French organ tradition as we know it today. César Franck was described as "a man of utmost humility, simplicity, reverence and instrument" by Louis Vierne, his pupil and soon to be titulaire organist of Notre-Dame de Paris. Vierne continues a César Franck showed a "constant concern for the dignity of his art". As a sidenote Franck was famous for having big hands and if you take a closer look at the famous picture of him at Ste-Clotilde, you can see him capable of spanning the interval of a 12th on the keyboard. __________________________ HOW TO SUPPORT MY WORK AND MY CHANNEL The most important thing is that the people watching my video enjoy them and hopefully want to subscribe to my channel.
