The Salem Witch Trials were one of the greatest examples of a justice system corrupted by lies, collusion, and conspiracy to exploit the system for personal gain. A pious, 'fire and brimstone' preacher built up a culture of fear, accusation, and mistrust in a community that was already at each other's throats before his arrival in the late 1600's. He believes that the Devil is lurking around every corner- waiting for any opportunity to temp the souls of the people of Salem, Massachusetts. Witchcraft and magic are the Devil's means to this end- and he believes that witchcraft is abundant in the newly established American Colonies. Everything reaches its boiling point when his 9 year old daughter and 12 year old niece begin exhibiting strange behaviors...
