In this video, you can follow the outcome of the trial of Alex Roberto de Queiroz Silva by the Jury Court of Cuiabá (MT), accused of executing lawyer Renato Gomes Nery, former president of the OAB-MT, who was shot dead in front of his own office on July 5, 2024. In the rebuttal, the prosecutor highlights article 347 of the Penal Code, which typifies procedural fraud, referring to the defendant's attempt to burn the clothes used in the crime to eliminate evidence. The provision stipulates that the penalty is doubled when the fraud is intended to produce an effect in criminal proceedings. TRIAL RESULT: The Jury Council convicted Alex Roberto de Queiroz Silva of triple-qualified homicide (promise of reward, means that generated common danger, difficulty of defense for the victim, and advanced age of the victim), procedural fraud, and criminal organization. The final sentence was 33 years and 10 months of imprisonment, in a closed regime, in addition to compensation to the family exceeding R$ 40,000.
