Abren indagación a exfuncionarios del gobierno Petro por polémica con Clan del Golfo

The Attorney General's Office has launched a preliminary investigation against key figures in Gustavo Petro's administration, including former Defense Minister Iván Velásquez and former Peace Commissioner Danilo Rueda. The investigation stems from the release of an audio recording in which Rueda allegedly negotiated benefits and preferential treatment with the Clan del Golfo at the beginning of the administration, in order to secure their involvement in the Total Peace project. This disciplinary action also extends to former Director of National Intelligence Jorge Arturo Lemos and the former Deputy Director of the same agency, Ricardo Rey Rosanilla. The case file includes highly relevant testimonies, such as that of retired General Henry Sanabria, former Director of the National Police, who has recounted alleged pressure exerted from the Presidential Palace to condition operations against criminal organizations under the pretext of the ongoing peace processes. Despite the outgoing administration's defense of the prudence of its actions and its denial of having ordered the cessation of military operations, the Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking to determine whether there was an overreach of authority or a suffocating collusion with organized crime, as the newly elected government has alleged.
