You can find all Barry Train videos at    / @barrytrain662   The Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT), also referred to as the Metro Bus Tunnel, is a 1.3-mile-long (2.1 km) pair of public transit tunnels in Seattle, Washington, United States. The DSTT was used only by buses from its opening in 1990 until 2005, and shared by buses and light rail from 2009 until 2019. On March 23, 2019, bus service in the tunnel ceased and its remaining seven routes were moved to surface streets. This ride through the tunnel is from July 2002. The entrance to the bus tunnel was at Convention Place. There are four stations: Westlake station, University Street station, Pioneer Square station, and the International District/Chinatown station. After the tunnel was closed for Link conversion, a handful of busses were converted to trolley buses, with their diesel engines removed, and the rest were scrapped, and none were used in the tunnel after the conversion to rail. One or two were kept for the Metro Employees Historical Vehicle Association which after a lengthy pause (Covid and insurance issues) you can now ride about once a quarter. In 2004, Metro got it's first Diesel electric Hybrids. From 2004 until September 2005, and after the tunnel reopened to buses in 2007, these buses operated in the tunnel in hush mode. These were fun buses, serving King County until 2018. In 2008-2010, Metro got some more buses with hush mode (6800's-6900's) , New Flyer DE60LF, to operate in the tunnel. Some buses in this order are still in operation to this day, even after the buses left the tunnel, they're still really useful buses. Apparently, some of the Rapidride buses came with hush mode.
