Create a Mini Cedar Bonsai from a Cutting
I describe the process I went through to create this tiny bonsai tree (Thuja occidentalis ‘Primo’) from a cutting. I started the process 4 years ago, when I took some cuttings from my larger Thuja ‘Primo’ bonsai tree. After this cutting rooted, I wired and potted it over the course of a couple years, all the while allowing it to grow. In this video, I give the tree its first styling as a bonsai tree, sharing some tips along the way. I’m thrilled with the result. At only 4 inches (10 centimeters) tall, I was able to create several pads and make it look like a miniature tree.
