Serpentine Pavilion 2024: Architect Minsuk Cho in conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist | Serpentine
Architect Minsuk Cho (Mass Studies) and Serpentine Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist discuss the Serpentine Pavilion 2024. They speak about how Cho came to architecture, his advice to a young architect and the idea behind the Pavilion's void which references a madang, an open courtyard located at the centre of traditional Korean houses. Titled 'Archipelagic Void', the Pavilion is composed of five ‘islands’, each of which is unique in size, height and form: the 'Gallery', the 'Auditorium', 'The Library of Unread Books', the 'Play Tower' and the 'Tea House'.
