To find the best state Islamic universities (UIN) in Indonesia, the reference you can use is accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). BAN-PT is a national accreditation agency authorized by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia to improve the quality of higher education. As of the writing of this video, seven UINs have received A or excellent accreditation. Besides BAN-PT, to determine the best state Islamic universities in Indonesia, other references can be used: international university ranking agencies. There are at least three international university ranking agencies, including State Religious Universities (PTKN): 1. Scimago Institutions Rankings Scimago Institutions Rankings combines three different indicators: research performance, innovation output, and social impact, as measured by web visibility. Based on the 2023 Scimago Institutions Rankings, only two UINs made the list. 2. Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities. Webometrics is a ranking system for universities worldwide, based on performance and publication impact, using three indicators: Openness, Excellence, and Visibility. 3. UniRank. UniRank is a university ranking agency that uses three criteria to determine the best universities: Recognized and accredited by Indonesian higher education institutions; Offering at least undergraduate education, or master's and doctoral education; and providing formal learning in traditional, face-to-face, and online formats.
