CAPO TEULADA (CAGLIARI), SEPTEMBER 14, 2012 - Colonel Sandro BRANCA has assumed command of the 1st Armored Regiment at Capo Teulada. The handover from his predecessor, Colonel Giovanni ROSSITTO, 29th Commander of the Regiment, founded as the 1st Tank Regiment in 1936 in Vercelli, took place at the "Salvatore Pisano" Barracks in the presence of the Deputy Commander of the Autonomous Military Command of Sardinia, General Natalino MADEDDU, and the highest local civil, religious, and military authorities, representatives of the Combatant and Armed Forces Associations, and the Gonfalons of the Municipalities of Teulada, Sant'Anna Arresi, and neighboring municipalities. In his speech, General Madeddu emphasized the importance of a military installation like Capo Teulada and the Sassari Brigade for the economy of Sulcis and the entire island. "Sulcis needs jobs," said the Deputy Commander of the Autonomous Military Command of Sardinia, "but it also needs values.
