Lineside at the East Lancashire Railway Summer Diesel Gala 2026

Day 3 of the East Lancashire Railway Summer Diesel Gala 2026, filmed on Saturday 4th July 2026, featuring an action-packed day of lineside diesel action from across the railway. With an intensive timetable in operation, the gala brought together the ELR home fleet alongside three visiting locomotives: 20303 – Class 20 (Courtesy of Swietelsky UK) 37610 – Class 37 (Courtesy of Swietelsky UK) 58023 – Class 58 (Courtesy of Edward Stevenson) This video captures a variety of passenger services, locomotive run-bys and plenty of classic diesel sounds from a selection of locations around the East Lancashire Railway. Originally built for heavy freight operations, 58023 is a preserved British Rail Class 58 diesel-electric locomotive. Its distinctive narrow-bodied design earned it the nickname "Bone", and today it is both the first Class 58 to have been preserved and currently the only operational member of the class in the UK. 00:00 Coming Up... 00:29 Burrs Country Park 06:18 Summerseat 09:18 Ramsbottom 11:37 Rawtenstall 18:42 Townsend Fold Level Crossing 19:11 Ewood Bridge 19:42 Irwell Vale 21:47 Lumb Wood 24:33 Irwell Vale 30:39 Heywood Which locomotive was your highlight of Day 3?
