How to design a Split Housing in Fusion

Extrude Definition: The standard tool for creating solid geometry from a sketch. How it works: You select a profile and pull it to create a solid block or cylinder. Best for: Creating the mounting base, clamp, or connection point that your pipe structure will attach to. 2. Offset Plane (Construction) Definition: Creates a new sketching canvas parallel to an existing face but at a specific distance away. How it works: The Problem: You want to draw a handlebar or a tube that sits in front of your mounting bracket, but there is no surface there to sketch on. The Solution: You select the front face of the bracket and drag an Offset Plane 50mm forward. Now you can sketch the path for your pipe floating in space. Best for: Setting up the sketch path for sweeps, lofts, and pipes. 3. Pipe Definition: Instantly creates a tube or rod along a sketch path. How it works: You sketch a line (path) on your new Offset Plane. Then, you select the Pipe tool and click the line. Fusion 360 builds the tube geometry automatically. Best for: Handlebars, roll cages, fluid lines, or furniture frames. 4. Mirror Definition: Creates a symmetrical copy of your body or features. How it works: You model only the left side of the handlebar (Pipe). Then, you use Mirror to copy it to the right side using the center plane. Best for: Ensuring perfect symmetry without doing the work twice. 5. Fillet Definition: Rounds off sharp edges. How it works: Applies a radius to smooth transitions. Best for: Rounding the edges of the Extruded base or adding a weld-bead look where the Pipe meets the Base.
