I purchased this Carvera Air with my own funds. This video is not sponsored. ------------------------------ This video shows the process of machining a custom NATO rail for the Sony FX3 / FX30 XLR Handle Unit (XLR-H1) using 4-axis machining on the Makera Carvera Air. With the 4th Axis Module, the entire part can be completed in a single setup without flipping the stock. Accurate 4-axis machining requires proper calibration. Even a small offset in the A-axis machine zero can cause misalignment between the two sides, resulting in steps on the profile and holes. I’m sharing my calibration workflow using the excellent, community-driven macros available in Carvera Controller Community and a 3D touch probe, and also how I quickly and accurately center and chuck a flat plate stock material that isn’t round or square using a dedicated jig. ------------------------------ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Intro 00:13 4th Axis Module Calibration 02:17 4th Axis Centering Jig (Chuck & Tailstock) 02:58 A-Axis Zero Set 03:35 Fusion 360 4th Axis Simulation 05:05 WCS Setup 05:16 T1 Ø6 mm — Face 06:13 T1 Ø6 mm — Bore / Circular 06:20 T2 Ø4 mm — Bore / Circular 06:41 T3 Ø3.175 mm — Bore / Circular 07:05 T4 Ø2 mm — Bore / Circular 07:40 T5 Ø4.88 mm (1/4"-20 UNC) — Thread 07:55 T6 Ø6.7 mm (3/8"-16 UNC) — Thread 08:07 T7 Ø4 mm Ball End Mill — Rotary Parallel 09:10 T2 Ø4 mm — 2D Contour 09:35 T8 Ø4 mm 45° Chamfer Mill — Trace / 2D Chamfer / Deburr 09:56 T9 Ø1 mm Ball End Mill — Deburr 10:24 T2 Ø4 mm — 2D Contour 11:28 Accuracy Check ------------------------------ PROJECT DETAILS Machine: Makera Carvera Air (Desktop CNC) Material: 6061 Aluminum https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c2v...
