These vehicles are manufactured by Alstom and belong to the Flexity tram family. NGT10D trams are about 38 meters long. They have a capacity of 92 seats and 149 standees. The abbreviation NGT10D indicates that it is a low-floor articulated driven tram car with 10 axles grouped in bogies. 2 sets of 2 non-driven axles are placed under the 2nd section of the 4-section tram. Traction power output is 630 kW. The other 3 sections have one driven bogie each. Internal illumination is a so-called ambiente illumination, this means that it can be switched on in various colours. So far NGT8D articulated trams have been the dominating vehicle type in Magdeburg. They are used without and with trailers and have a length of 29 meters. Some NGT8D are coupled with modified Tatra B6A2 trailers. Such a train is approx. 44 meters long – about 6 meters longer than a NGT10D. Meanwhile MVB has equipped some NGT8D with new destination indicators displaying white letters, like those that are used in the NGT10D trams. In December of 2025 some of the 2-sectional Tatra KT4D trams had still been in use. You can see some scenes near the end of the video.
