And Jesus went into the Pharisee's house and sat down at the table. Now there was a woman in the city who was a sinner, and when she heard that Jesus was reclining at the table in the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume. She stood behind Him at His feet, weeping, and began to wet His feet with her tears and wipe them with the hair of her head. She kissed His feet and anointed them with the perfume. But when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching Him—that she is a sinner.” And Jesus said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” “Teacher,” she answered. “A certain moneylender had two debtors; one owed him 500 denarii, and the other 50; and they having nothing with which to repay, he forgave them both generously. Which of them, then, will love him more?' 'I suppose the one to whom he forgave more,' replied Simon. And Jesus said to him, 'You have judged correctly.' And turning to the woman, he said to Simon, 'Do you see this woman? I came into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has bathed my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but she has not stopped kissing my feet since I came in. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she anointed my feet with perfume. Therefore I tell you, her sins, though many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little loves little.' Then Jesus said to the woman, 'Your sins have been forgiven.' Those who were reclining at the table with him began to They would say to one another, "Who is this who even forgives sins?" But Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
