The New World Translation (NWT) bible is used by Jehovah‘s Witnesses as their authoritative English bible. It contains passages that differ from the traditional English, and even the original Hebrew and Greek bible, to fit with their theology of Jesus being only a god, different in essence from the Father. More specifically, they believe Jesus is the archangel Michael, the first and greatest creation of the Father. Contrary to traditional Trinitarian belief of Jesus being the eternal, timeless, spaceless God, one with the Father and Spirit, who created everything. Greg Stafford, an Arian (similar theology as the Jehovah’s Witnesses), used Revelation 3:14 to prove that Jesus had a beginning but ignore the whole context of Revelation of what the beginning is actually referring to. Sam Shamoun addresses this heresy. This is a condensed method to show the deity of Christ from the bible, effective mainly to Jehovah‘s Witnesses due to the use of the NWT bible, but also one of the many passages in traditional Bibles.
