Awesome Abandoned Mine: Waterloo & Lightening Peak Area
Today we dive into the area of several old mines. First we check out the remains of the Dictator shaft, then we explore three of the five levels for the abandoned Waterloo mine before heading over to the AU shaft and then finishing off at the Waterloo mill site. The Waterloo mine operated from 1904 to 1984. Most of the work in this mine was done in stages where the mine would sit abandoned for long periods between work. Throughout it's lifetime several adits collapsed and were reopened twice over. Total production for this mine weighed in at roughly 1232 tonnes of ore consisting of Silver, Lead, Zinc, Copper, Gold and Cadmium
