Tour Of The Marhaba Royal Salem Hotel In Sousse Tunisia
This is a tour of the Marhaba Royal Salem Hotel in Tunisia, Sousse in 2026 The hotel is a very good 7 out of 10 We went all inclusive, this included food, drinks, safe, WI-FI, gym, sauna, beach sunbeds. The food is limited but very nice. When you get to the hotel you will be given a blue card (blue in 2026), this has your hotel number on, there is 2 evening meal sittings, you will be given a table by the head waiter and you will use this table on that time slot all your holiday, the blue card stays on the table, however this is only for evening meals, breakfast and lunch you can use any table, also if you use the other evening meal slot they will just put you on another table. Ask the bar staff for bottles of still or fizzy water they will give you it so you can take it to your room, but watch out some cleaners will remove any full ones from your fridge so open it and have something out of it to stop this. The safe is easy, enter any 4 or 6 digit code then the hash key #, the safe will lock and display Closed plus the key you entered so watch and make sure it is right. To open just enter the code and it will open. If you get locked out tell reception, someone will come up and open the safe for you. Wi-Fi is around the whole complex and a good speed Snacks are very limited and nothing to eat after 9pm Entertainment ends at 11pm, usually just before. The event guy was irritating, you're sat relaxing having a drink and they will come ask your information, you tell them you just want a "relaxing holiday" and the next day they will pester you again The complex consists of 3 hotels, each has its own colour wrist bands, you can use the pools, bars, restaurants in any of the 3. For all inclusive there are À la carte restaurants, tell your head waiter in the normal restaurant and he will book you in, however you will find you have only 2 choices of meals where the all-inclusive you pick what you want to more variety. We were in the Royal Salam and some of the waiters in the restaurant in there were all over the females, really overkill, if they were a female or females alone some staff hovered a lot (especially in the centre), overly interactive, this was a very common theme. Other than some of the over affectionate restaurant staff the rest of the staff were great, bar staff great etc. Bath, shower, toilet were all nice and working with hairdryer. The gym in very good however staff from the gym reception will be in there a lot, using the equipment and following females working out. A Cross Cable Machine I like was there but only limited add-ons, such as the handles where there was only 1 and not a pair which you need for most workouts. Other machines were very good. The changing room lockers in the Gym, Sauna and Indoor pool area are very dodgy, they lock by a small padlock and key but once the padlock is on the door it can be opened so far people can reach in, to limit this look for a locker that does not open far once the lock is on, put your items to the back and the opposite side of the opening locker door, you can get locks from the reception (borrow for free) at this area but they are limited so often they won’t have one, either take your own or go at a time when there is less people. Sauna was always empty, although you could only really fit 4 in if you were lucky, it was hot and clean. There are 4 pools across the 3 hotels, 3 outdoor and 1 indoor, early on the indoor pool was 30 degrees, very hot, and the outside ones were freezing. The Jacuzzi is in the inside pool and when it stops there is a button behind you on the wall you have to press to turn it back on as it is on a timer. The beach in right next to the hotel and has a bar right next to it, when you walk on the beach there will be someone sat under an umbrella, tell him how many sunbeds you want and they will put them down for you or add cushions too Overall the hotel is clean, tidy, a nice atmosphere, lots and lots of old ladies with bobs, the cleaning ladies are super friendly, so a 10 dinar tip (£2.50) at the beginning of your holiday and something at the end is always nice, make sure you give the tip to the one who you see most as they will only be there so many days The air con is enabled by a small button in the patio door frame at the bottom, so if you have the air con on and the door to the patio is open the air con will not come on until you close the door The beach has salesmen selling tops, towels and novelty items, these are cheaper in the stores just outside the hotel and markets in Sousse. Tipping is not needed, but if you want to small ones like 10 dinar are appreciated, don’t go tipping everyone for everything. It is always nice to speak something to people in their own language whatever country you are in so here are some common words you should use a lot: Marhaba = Hello (pronounced ma a haba) As-salamu alaykum = Peace Be Upon You (pronounced - a sam ala cume) Shukran = Thank you (pronounced - shu kran)
