My First Backyard Ultramarathon: How I Hit My Limit… Then Went Past It
I ran my first Backyard-Style Ultramarathon, and it was one of the most challenging — and surprisingly heartwarming — race experiences of my life. I ran The Last of the Felascans Backyard Ultra. This was my first Backyard Ultramarathon, and it humbled me. I learned so many lessons, things I did right, and things I will take with me moving on to the next one. I hit my wall and suprised myself with how far I went after. One of the things that made this race so special was the community feel. Unlike a typical ultra where you might go long stretches without seeing anyone, in a backyard ultra everyone meets at the same spot every hour on the hour. Runners, crew, race directors — everyone is cheering each other on, supporting each other, and going through the same mental battle together. This race reminded me that ultras aren’t just about distance — they’re about people, heart, grit, and showing up for one more loop. If you love trail running, ultras, race vlogs, or anything endurance-related… this one is for you. 🏃♀️🔥 👉 Subscribe for more race recaps, training updates, and my journey to future ultras and marathons! #backyardultra #backyardultramarathon #backyardultratips #backyardultramarathontips #Thelastofthefelascans #ultramarathon
