QUEBEC'S ULTIMATE COASTAL ROAD TRIP! (Discovering Quebec's Gaspe Peninsula & the Gaspésie Region)

One of the most breathtaking coastal drives in North America is closer than you think! Join me in this video as I hit the road for the ultimate 1500 km summer road trip, exploring Quebec's stunning Gaspé Peninsula. Like an outstretched arm reaching into the sea, the Gaspésie region of Quebec offers endless maritime views, coastal scenery, and plenty of adventure activities to keep you busy during your time exploring this part of the province. From towering seaside cliffs to the iconic Perce Rock, to historic lighthouses, to charming historic codfishing villages, join me for a full tour of Québec’s wild eastern coastline. Travelling the full length of the legendary Route 132, I circle the entire Gaspé Peninsula over one week in late June, beginning with the stunning Reford Gardens north of Rimouski, Quebec. Here, I admire stunning flowers and art installations before continuing south across the Matapedia Valley to Miguasha National Park to check out its ancient fossil beds on the shores of Chaleur Bay. From there, I head to the centuries-old codfishing port of Paspebiac to learn more about Quebec's historic cod industry, then make my way to Percé for a journey out on the water to check out the iconic Percé Rock and visit the famous colony of Northern Gannets at Île Bonaventure, which is also famous for its historic cod fishing village (a National Historic Site). Leaving Percé, I make my way to the city of Gaspé for some morning whale watching by zodiac, followed by a walk through the "Birthplace of Canada", where Jacques Cartier claimed the territory of New France in 1534. From there, I head to Forillon National Park for some world-class hiking, glamping, whale watching, and seal kayaking, before continuing back west along the north shore of the peninsula. Along the way, I stop in Saint-Anne-des-Monts to check out the excellent Exploramer marine center, then take a detour to Gaspésie National Park to check out the best of the Quebec Appalaichians, then head back to Quebec City, ending my amazing week around this beautiful peninsula.
