The Fender Highway Series of acoustic-electric guitars includes parlor and dreadnought models with a choice of a Sitka spruce or mahogany top. A chambered mahogany body with arm and chest bevels, a C-shape mahogany neck and innovative floating-X bracing ensures the Highway Series delivers maximum comfort, projection and resonance. “The Fender Highway Series is the Rolls Royce of comfort,” says guitarist and producer Nicholas Veinoglou. “And the tone of these guitars is very pianistic. Low, mid and high notes are very balanced. No one voice is competing for the spotlight, so you get a full spectrum of sound.” While the Highway Series dreadnought and parlor models have thin body designs, they are still loud and dynamic enough to deliver exceptional results when miked in a recording studio. For stage performances, a curved Fishman Fluence CoreTM pickup mounted to the top of the soundhole retains all of the beautiful sounds of the parlor and dreadnought when plugged into an acoustic-guitar amp or mixing board. “The parlor really stole my heart,” admits Veinoglou, “and I found myself carrying it around everywhere I went. It just feels like home to me—like my childhood guitar. But both models shine in their own respects.
