Winding a toroid: even distribution or tightly grouped?

When winding a toroid, it is recommended to evenly distribute the windings for better core utilisation and to reduce parasitic capacitance, but what happens if you bunch the turns closely, does the inductance increase or decrease? This video shows the inductance calculation in real time for an RF toroid as the windings spread is changed, I also did measurements to compare between evenly distributed and tightly grouped windings using the LDC1314 Inductance to Digital Converter from Texas Instruments. Note that other types of cores with higher number of turns may have different results.
