What she doesn't realize is that the place was once the scene of macabre events linked to Bughuul, the entity that manipulates children to commit brutal murders recorded in disturbing films. As her children begin to have contact with these recordings, the cycle of horror restarts in an even more intense and personal way. But to fully understand this sequel, it's essential to go back to the first film. Sinister, released in 2012, follows a writer who moves with his family into a house where a brutal murder occurred. Upon finding old Super 8 footage, he discovers a series of crimes linked to a mysterious entity that acts through children. The film stood out for its suffocating atmosphere, its use of sound, and especially for the way it builds fear through the unknown. In Sinister 2, the approach changes considerably. The film expands the Bughuul mythology, shows more of its influence, and takes a more direct and emotional approach, focusing on family trauma and the vulnerability of children. At the same time, this choice also divides opinions, since the terror here is less subtle and more explicit.
