Three Steps to Obtain the Right-Sized Short Crank Arms for you and your Bicycle.
If you are a cyclist, it is likely that you are aware of the recent increase in interest in the topic of crank length among road, gravel, and mountain bike cyclists. To date, the discussions surrounding this topic have primarily focused on elite or pro road cyclists. Every cyclist needs to know that using the correct length crankarm is not only a concern of elite and pro cyclists. Determining the right crank length for cyclists under 6’ tall is particularly important. As a bike fitter with Bike Fitness Coaching, I have known that fitting a cyclist with the correct length of crank arms is one of the most important steps in achieving a successful bike fit. The 3-step process that I describe in this video will make it much easier for you to end up with a road bike fitted with your right-sized cranks. Having the right-sized cranks will not only dramatically improve your ride experience, but will also significantly reduce many of the cycling injuries that can result from using a crank length that is the wrong length for you.
