We talked, felt the atmosphere, tasted flavors, and tried to understand the rhythm of the city. We continued to the center, where it all began… history, movement, contrasts… some things are surprising, others show that, like any city in Brazil, there's always room for improvement. We climbed up to the Cristo viewpoint… an incredible view of the city, a peaceful place… but the path also reveals another reality… simple neighborhoods, small houses, streets with trash… scenes that tell a lot about life here. At the end of the day we went to the Bateias lagoon… and there you can see the city really happening… families having picnics, people walking, playing ball… the simple routine that many people don't even notice, but that says everything about the place.
