The highest peak is Velika Vremščica (1027 m). Location and landscape Vremščica is located about 20 kilometers east of Trieste, between Senožeče, Pivka and Divača. The mountain range is for the western part of the Snežnik massif (1796 m) in the area of ​​high karst. It stretches north along the lower River. In the west there is a railway line across Gabrk (height of the pass on Čebulovica 549 m) with the Karst (karst plateau, Trieste karst) and above Goli vrh near Senožeče (height of the crossing 621 m). In the north, the mountain passes into the lower plateau Slavniška ravan near Postojna. To the east lies Markičeva Gora (825 m) and Osojnica (825 m) near the Pivka and Pivka basins; south of it lies the Košanska valley with a tributary of the river Mrzlak. Southeast on the other side of the Rijeka valley lies the Brkini. According to the classification of natural geographical areas of Slovenia, Slavniška ravan and Vremščica are considered as one neighboring region (Slavniška ravan with Vremščica).
