Bulgaria is considered one of the most insecure (and the poorest) countries in the EU. I had never gone until the summer of 2023... Not so much, leaving the center most of the sidewalks are broken, garbage every other block and graffiti on 90% of the walls. But, overall, I liked it much more than I would have imagined. I would return, without a doubt. PLUS: Sofia has what no other European capital has, A MOUNTAIN. Hiking lovers: you are going to love it. ANOTHER PLUS: Bulgarians love pizza and ice cream and you can buy it everywhere! And very rich! And very cheap! .
