Quilting Confessions - Selvages, Strings & Scraps Welcome back, I’m back with another Quilting Confessions update - I was truly overwhelmed by this task, but determined to complete it. I’ve consulted some specialists … SCRAPOLOGISTS who have provided some expert advice & I’ve purchased a color coded cart, so I’m ready to dive in. #quilting #quiltscraps #scrapology Here’s the plan … 1. Identify all my scraps, strings and selvages (baggies, lol) 1. Make 4 piles … 1. Keep favorite designers (Tula, Camille, African fabrics, Lori Holt, RSS, Free Spirit & Kansas Troubles, which are already have them separated in specific totes/bins) 2. Cut x2 2.5”squares future 4 patch quilt) &/or largest available square I can get 3. Large backing leftovers 4. Donate/Discard the remaining 2. Separate flannel, minky or any fabric (I.e jeans) that isn’t cotton (as I go), place on Etsy/eBay as a scrap bag 3. Identify 3 potential scrap quilt designs (String, Selvages &/or scraps) … no specific date/year to start (Red Zinger, APWQ, 4-patch) 4. Process leftovers/scraps of each project when they have been completed Goal: Empty all scraps & strings containers and allow myself 1 bag of selvages for possible future project & condense keepers into new cart Ready, Set … Let’s go!!!
