Over The Wall - Bonaire's Red Slave ep. 41
Bonaire's Red Slave dive site. It is one of the most exciting places to dive on the island. Converging currents bring in a variety of marine species and it is the location of many historic artifacts from Bonaire's sea salt trading past. In this episode head over the wall and go deeper than recent episodes and encounter the amazing behavior of the Western Comb Grouper. We encounter Horse-eye and Black Jacks. On our way to the wall we encounter a school of Blue Parrotfish that helped deliver needed content for a documentary. We feel we may have discovered a ship anchor from the 1700s within recreational diving limits. Based on its location and researching records kept by at least one local diver/Bonaire history buff feel we may have discovered it or were the first to record it. We will show it to you, take you there and tell you how to find this piece of Bonaire history. We also head to the northern reaches of the Red Slave diving area and experience some amazing reef as well as a number of beautiful green sea turtles and southern sennet. There is much more in this amazing episode which is quite beautiful. Roll up your dive bag, have a seat, and grab some popcorn and let us take you away to this beautiful location.
