Pottery Tutorial- Using Iron Oxide Wash to Enhance Texture
Hello Potters! In this video I'll show you how to apply iron wash to enhance texture on the surface of your pottery. Something to remember about this technique is that iron reacts differently to different glazes. Results can vary widely based on what glazes you are using in combination with the iron and how you are applying your glaze. Consider doing tests on tiles or sample pots so you can see how the iron reacts with YOUR glazes before you begin using it on your main pieces. Thanks for watching! NOTE oof, I forgot to mention something important. This process is for bisque ware! After your pot has had its first firing and before you apply glaze is the stage in which an iron wash will work best.
