This is not due to its moveset, but rather its unique effect called "Furnace Stacks," which will crank your rune attack damage up to some crazy numbers when built properly. It's standard moveset is a little slow and leaves a bit to be desired, but it is a strong weapon as long as you are able to fuel your rune attacks to be your main way to deal damage.
