E-learning on Elcho Island Yolngu Parents' Feedback

Yolngu parents desperately want online content for their children to understand in Yolngu Matha, as so many of them are refusing to go to the mainstream schooling system, where they are traumatised by culturally unsafe teaching methods. The current disastrous “educational” experience that is driving Yolngu children toward a life of crime needs to be turned around, and it can be done using modern online resources that only need to be produced once and that create a 10,000-pupil school accessible from anywhere. This trial was conducted in 2020. We have not been able to advance the program since then due to a lack of funds. The program used on Elcho Island in 2020 can be accessed here on Djambatjmarram.com https://djambatjmarram.com/lessons/ If you have sound enabled on your computer, you can click the syllables to hear them pronounced. If you know where we can get access to funds to build this online school, please get in contact. ---------------------- CONTACT US: Website: http://www.whywarriors.com.au/ Facebook:   / whywarriors   Email: [email protected] ----------------------- Richard Trudgen: Production manager Steph Vajda: Graphic Artist of Ferment Collaborate https://fermentcollaborate.org/ Dianne Gondarra: Language Rev Dr Djiniyini Gondarra: Language Maratja Dhamarrandji: Language
