In an interview, veterinarian, consultant, and professor of postgraduate studies at Unesp Jaboticabal, Iveraldo Dutra, issued a rigorous warning to cattle ranchers: the dry season intensifies sanitary challenges in the field, demanding maximum attention from producers against the spread of parasitic diseases, outbreaks of botulism, and the incidence of tuberculosis. Dutra proved that, although investment in animal health represents a very small portion of production costs—not reaching 5% of total farm expenses—an error in prevention completely negates investments in genetics and cutting-edge nutrition.
