I know that you are going to find them elsewhere, so I invite you to watch the video until the end. Also, the video has a surprise. Together we are going to make a lot of people smile. Will you accompany me Hello Dreamers, I am Kike Calvo, photographer and entrepreneur, in love with Colombia and its people. My fight against the algorithm continues to advance, thanks for every like and every subscription. They make a difference. In today's video I'm going to focus on why I think Disney chose Colombia. Surely many have their own opinions, but after touring Colombia: the coasts by boat, from the Darien down the Chocó coast, the Cauca Valley, Cauca and Nariño Valley, or driving from Tolima to Cartagena, or going around Santander, Boyaca Caldas, Antioquia, and Cundinamarca, then to say why I think Disney was inspired by Colombia. Colombia, what can I say about you Colombia. I have traveled your trails. You are crossed by three mountain ranges. Your landscape is bathed by rivers, big and small, wedged between two oceans. The coasts, forests and jungles, moors and crags, valleys and perpetual snow are a regular accompaniment to any traveler traveling through Colombia. Climbing through the woods I have seen the colors of the hummingbirds. They stop me with their flight. They go forward. Or backwards. They fly without flying. Its colors are magical. Just as magical as the colors of the sky. I have seen sunrises at Cerro Kennedy in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, and heard the Kogi people talk about the organization of the world. They always wear white clothes. For them it represents purity. Kogi in their language means Jaguar. Their culture has continued since the pre-Columbian era. They live in towns called Kuibolos, Arahuacos, Wiwas, Kogis, and Kankuamos. Descendants of the Tairona. The Sierra that you keep was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1979 for being the highest coastal mountain formation in the world. And I will talk about the Kankuamo People, with their efforts to recover their lost language. Their traditions amazed me. Their kukambas, dances of blacks and devils. They opened the doors for me to understand them better, and some, their friendship. They steal flowers at night To decorate their hats. And here I make a paragraph. To give a salute to the heavens for the Cultural Researcher and Teacher of Uniatlántico Jairo Enrique Soto, who died of a heart attack the same day he was going to give us a talk about Carnival. Jairo and I traveled together. Part of my love for anthropology could have come from him. His passion for his Colombia, which I think in part was left to me. Jairo and I were talking about making a book. It never could. But I did it for both of us. It will be published soon. Traditions and mixtures. Like the Barranquilla Carnival. Clear fusion of three worlds, the indigenous, the African and the Spanish. Barranquilleros opened their doors for me, many artisans offered me their friendship, their knowledge, and some even masks. Which by the way I collect, and I keep with love. My steps through the city taught me to better understand what Carnival is. It is more than dance and color. It is family. It is tradition. It's art. It is pride. Who will is who enjoys live. So they say. I could see it. Expressions of the Colombian Caribbean; of the Rio Grande de la Magdalena; from the town of Barranquilla. Carnival queen. Popular Queen. The winds carried me to Valledupar. I remember. Ciro Guerra's travels of the wind inscribed in my mind the countries of Colombia. I got to shake the hand of Beto Murgas and learned with her about the history of the Accordion. A stranger to me. And I came out loving Vallenato. Because he who does not fly does not go up, because if he does not fly he does not get there. And now I remember Jaime Molina. Oh man. He lived or known Cacique, called Upar. That's why we call it Valle de Upar, and since then I've been wondering what they eat in Patillal. With the dust of the road they seem to make poetry when talking. And I still remember the laugh of Andres, one of the children of the gil Turk. Life didn't give him vision, but it compensated him with talent and charisma. I saw tears of joy fall from those who heard them sing.#enchantment #disney #enchantingdisney #trailerencanto
