My Illustration Style with Blender's Compositor

I had a couple questions about how I was getting this look with the compositor, so this is a rambling tour of my current set up. Would love it if you have ideas for how to improve, and I'll be around to answer follow up questions because I'm sure I glossed over some things! The last short I did used a similar look, but with the Shader to RGB node in the materials, so as I iterated I would have to adjust evvverrryy material. So this set up uses totally normal materials (mostly just diffuse shader with a texture) and uses the compositor to simplify and stylize the lighting, making it way easier to get different lighting set ups and use existing assets. 00:00 Intro 00:38 Render Layers 01:16 Color 01:58 Lights and Shadows 08:10 Trying to explain Mix Color Node 09:04 Emission 09:47 Atmospheric Perspective 11:10 Sky (Matte Painting) 12:42 Post Process 13:46 An example of dynamic lighting #blender #npr #bnpr
