In today's homily, the Word of God leads us to look at our tears, our weariness, and those fears that often try to settle in our hearts as if they own our lives. In the first reading, Hezekiah receives painful news, turns his face to the wall, and prays with tears. And God responds with a comforting phrase: "I have heard your prayer and seen your tears." In today's Gospel, Jesus walks with his hungry disciples and defends them with mercy, reminding us that God sees not only lack, but also hunger and the wounds of the heart.
