Hong Kong police patrol city in armoured vehicles, a day after protesters use homemade weapons
After a long night of clashes with police who retaliated with tear gas at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, black-clad protesters used their arrows, javelins and bamboo poles to patrol the battered school, while riot police took to the city's streets in armoured vehicles to disperse protesters who had been blocking traffic. Earlier in the day about 1,000 protesters had blocked roads in the Central district at lunchtime.
