The national president of the PL party, Valdemar Costa Neto, is suspected of the crimes of embezzlement and criminal association, according to a court decision by Minister Flávio Dino of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The document, which became public on Friday (10), is part of the developments of "Operation Transparency" and an investigation into a scheme to divert public funds through parliamentary amendments. The Federal Police are investigating the embezzlement of R$ 119 million in parliamentary amendments, an amount that Minister Dino ordered to be frozen from Valdemar's assets until the investigation clarifies the facts surrounding these funds. According to investigators, there is evidence that even without a parliamentary mandate, Valdemar Costa Neto had the power to direct where the amendment funds would be applied according to his own interests. "It's a total demoralization. Someone who isn't a member of parliament, who isn't a deputy, having power, having influence over the budget. (...)
