Joe’s journey is one of pain, resilience, and unbreakable strength. Born into a family that had already experienced unimaginable loss, Joe’s life began with heavy challenges. Before he was born, his mother had lost three children. When Joe arrived, he faced his own struggles, unable to stand properly and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Growing up was not easy. He was bullied by pupils who mocked his speech and called him names because of the way he walked and stammered. Even in school, instead of support, he often faced humiliation from teachers who failed to understand his condition. At home, life was equally difficult. His father struggled with alcoholism, and there were moments of violence and instability that made even basic things like doing homework a challenge. Despite all of this, Joe pushed forward. He completed his education, joined Moi University, and pursued a degree in Psychology. For him, psychology was more than a course, it became a way of understanding and healing his own trauma.
