Recorded at Rare, Modena - Italy BlackFilter is the project of Pellegrino Mazzucchi, a percussionist, DJ, and producer based in Modena, Italy. Pellegrino developed a passion for music at an early age, influenced by his mother, an Indo-Mozambican Fado singer, and his older brother, a Latin music DJ who encouraged him to study percussion. He later expanded his sonic palette by experimenting with analog synthesizers and drum machines. Over time, the fusion of these elements gave birth to the distinctive sound of BlackFilter and "Batuki": a dialogue between Afro-Caribbean rhythms and futuristic jazz with hints of electro and disco, offering listeners a fresh and vibrant sonic experience.
