Inishbofin

Drone video of the beautiful island of Inishbofin off the west coast of Ireland along the Wild Atlantic Way taken during a weekend visit in late October 2022. Main feature being Cromwell's Barracks which was built back in the 1600's. Its an impressive star shaped fortress which has been impeccably preserved. It was used to house captured Catholic clergy from all over the country after the English Statute of 1655 declared them guilty of high treason. Here they awaited transportation to the West Indies and Barbardos. If you look closely you will see the seals swimming near the beach and a young pup having a snooze after a big feed.
