Brute force is a trial-and-error method of cracking a password-protected system or network. The attacker uses automated software or tools to try different combinations of characters repeatedly, starting with simple combinations and moving on to more complex and longer combinations of symbols. Though it is a relatively unsophisticated method of attack compared to other more advanced techniques such as phishing or malware attacks, it is still a prevalent technique attackers use for initial access today.
