Block Party Celebrates Oldest Living Conjoined Twins

BEAVERCREEK -- The weather was perfect for a big block party in Beavercreek Saturday. Ronnie and Donnie Galyon are officially the world's oldest conjoined twins. They'll turn 63 in October, passing the record once held by twins from Italy. The brothers made money at circuses when they were growing up. At one point, they were given just six months to live because of their health problems. The two are thriving these days thanks largely in part to their brother and sister-in-law who help care for them in a custom-made home built by the Christian Youth Corp. "The quality of life, that's the important thing. That's why we took this project on is to give them a quality of life so everyday makes a difference in their life," said Pete Andrews with Christian Youth Corps. "Their spirit and being able to get this far is what has made me so proud of them. I've gained so much more from them than I could ever give to them back," said Dr. Glenn Kwiat. Their custom-made home and wheelchair has allowed them to thrive physically and mentally, living the most fulfilling life possible.
