Tour date: August 1, 2023. A little about the city and where to visit. An overview of the city, home to the Russian Aviation Research Center and Moscow's fourth airport. Zhukovsky is relatively large for the Moscow region and, thanks to its scientific achievements, has earned the status of a science city. Every two years, Zhukovsky hosts one of the world's largest air shows, MAKS. However, in 2023, it was postponed to 2024, and in 2024, it was cancelled. But we assume this is an exception. Many monuments and places in Zhukovsky, as well as the city's name itself, are related to aviation. The city is quite green, despite being adjacent to many populated areas, in particular, the town of Ramenskoye. Here you'll find the spacious streets of the old part of the city, modern neighborhoods, and extensive parks. Nearby, there are dacha communities and gardening associations, along with places for swimming and outdoor recreation. Not far from the city, the Bykovo estate with its Vladimir Church, a very unusual architectural landmark, is worth visiting.
