Imam Abu Hanifa al-Nu'man was a Muslim scholar and jurist who lived in the second century AH (eighth century CE) in Iraq. He was born in the city of Kufa and grew up there, studying Islamic sciences. He also owned a cloth shop. Abu Hanifa was known for his profound knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence and his sound judgment and rulings, and he was considered one of the most prominent jurists of his time. Imam Abu Hanifa al-Nu'man is considered the founder of the Hanafi school of thought, which is followed by Muslims worldwide. He is renowned for his focus on interpretation and renewal within Islamic jurisprudence. He was also distinguished by his commitment to justice and fairness in rulings and is considered one of the most important jurists in Islamic history.
