You can connect the camera directly to the car battery and record 24 hours a day, but I didn't do that because I wasn't sure it wouldn't damage the battery, and I didn't want an electronic device running in the car in extremely hot weather. A memory card didn't come with the device. Some sellers said it did. If you don't have a memory card, ask the seller before buying. I had one, so I got one. The device has distance measurement, but you can only see it when you access it through the app on your phone. Transferring videos from the camera's memory to your phone doesn't show the distance information. Image quality decreases as speed increases. However, you can capture frames that are considered normal for the price. The important thing here is your speed. Assuming that in an accident, the speeds of both parties will equalize or converge, the images will be useful.
