"The Sound of Falling," by German director Mascha Schilinski, is experienced with a sense of disorientation, as if constantly demanding to be deciphered. It intertwines the stories of four women in different eras, linked to a family and a farm, who share pain and shame, the effects of a traumatic event passed down through generations. "The Sound of Falling" won the Jury Prize at Cannes 2025 (along with "Sirāt," by Oliver Laxe) and ten German Film Awards, among other accolades.
