Moving History: Meet the Isle of Wight Bus & Coach Museum

Hello 👋🏻 In this episode I pay a visit to Isle of Wight Bus and Coach Museum at Ryde. I was very lucky to be given a guided tour of the museum by two absolute legends of Isle of Wight bus preservation, Derek Priddle and Richard Newman. Derek has saved a small fleet of Southern Vectis buses for preservation - some of which we meet in this video. Richard is also a vehicle owner as well as being the gentleman who wrote the book 'Southern Vectis:The First Sixty Years. ' In our tour we'll meet buses from just over 100 years ago as well as a carriage which is from the 1800s. The story comes up to date with a low floor Dennis Dart. And of course all these beautiful vehicles are housed in a classic designed bus garage too. We even get played out by a ukulele band- what more could you want? I hope you enjoy this video. If you do please like hype and share it. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss my future releases. Also if you're on the island this summer, please pop in and visit the bus museum. Even buying something in their excellent cafe helps raise funds for them. They also have a fabulous gift shop too with loads of books, models, uniform and bus stops for sale! If you'd like help support SCTV please hit the super thanks button and donate. All money raised goes to the upkeep of the buses in the Southern Counties Omnibus Collection. Thanks for watching
